Bringing American culture closer to new immigrants

Anna Kudryashova is a Russian linguist specializing in cultural diversity. She has always been interested in other cultures and the way they interact. Being a new Bostonian and a “girl in translation” on the one hand, and a curious student on the other, Anna blogs about her everyday observations (that are primarily based in the New England area). Her ultimate goal is to bring American culture closer to new immigrants.

Glad to find your blog, Anna. It’s always helpful for me to hear how Americans look to others, like yourself. What are the things we do that seem “odd”, etc.

Please take a look at my blog when you get a chance. See if there’s anything interesting there, from an American who is learning (through about 25 years) how to view things more as an insider (even though I’m not one yet!).

I’ve subscribed to your blog, and look forward to future articles. -Thanks.

Thank you so much for your interest, Ron! I found your blog very interesting, many insights, many valuable observations. Great job! I’m glad that we can see each other’s perspectives, it’ll bring us a little closer to the understanding of the whole picture. 🙂

This is AMAZING. I’m into travel so I know a lot about how to behave in England/Korea/Japan/Italy, etc, but I never thought about reversing it. Especially the ‘tipping’. Haha.

Hi, your blog is very good. I’m doing the same with Italian culture, but I think I’ll share yours with other Italians.
